Tweed Meyer
Tweed Meyer is a regional painter and
Northwest native. A graduate of the
Northwest College of Art in Poulsbo,
Washington., she considers herself a
plein air
painter, following in the path of the
Impressionists. She spends time painting
outdoors, catching the play of light on water
or  the solitude of the rain forest among
ancient trees. This practice renews her
commitment to documenting place as a way
of preserving human connection to nature.

Tweed's recent work focuses on the
connection we have with the people in our
day-to-day experiences. She finds her
subjects primarily in musicians at festivals
and patrons in local cafés. She has received
enthusiastic response to this work because
individuals are able to interact with her art in
progress. Watching the creative process
unfold connects individuals to the art, an
"endangered experience," according to
Tweed.
